Plastic is durable and often lighter, but it might retain flavors and odors over time. Stainless steel and insulated cups can keep your smoothie cold for longer periods.

Shape: The shape of the glass can affect both the aesthetic appeal and the drinking experience. Some people prefer a wide-mouth glass for easy drinking and cleaning, while others might like a tall, narrow glass for the visual appeal.

Keep in mind that the size and shape of the glassware or container will ultimately affect the amount and type of layering.  If using a double wall stainless container to bring a smoothie to work, there is no layering to be concerned about.

Think of the garnish when selecting glassware.  The more delicate the glassware the more emphasis will be placed on the garnish.

Be aware of the smoothie consumer.  If the client is young and still developing coordinated arms and hands, it is probably unwise to provide a smoothie in a delicate glass.  Think more along the lines of a parfait glass that is practically indestructible.
